Anurag goes to Sinnar

I've had to travel more than usual during the past few weekends to my field area in Nashik district for my PhD work. Yesterday was special because Anurag decided to accompany me. It was also an unusual trip because I was taking a big group of students and wasn't planning on very intensive work so I figured it would be easier to manage Anurag.
Anu enjoyed visiting various dam sites and walking through fields. Helped by some of the students he managed to collect a great deal of goodies from the fields - peas, carrots, okra, moong beans and pomegranates. Most of them were collected and consumed on the spot!
(Villages visited: Konambe, Sonambe and Wadgaon Sinnar)

Monsoon run 2016

IITB organised the monsoon campus run this morning. The kids and I participated in the 5k run. Saurabh first ran the 11k (completed in 54 mins) and then did another 5k by joining us. The event turned out to be aptly named as it poured down through out the run. The boys have been going around with their medal around their neck all day (its the PV Sindhu effect!) and refuse to taken it off.

Anu and Anita

Anita, who is instrumental in ensuring that we are all well fed, well stocked and well taken care of in our household, is peculiar by her absence on this blog. In an attempt to change that, here are some recent pictures (one from Rakhi 2016 and another one from a few months ago).

Monsoon trek to Peth village

We went for a much needed monsoon hike this past weekend. Sahana and Pradeep's presence made it even more special. The highlights were the beautiful waterfall where we all spent a good amount of time playing in the water and the plateau that the kids discovered on a detour where Pradeep surprised us with his coffee-pot and stove!

I-Day 2016

I was away on field work but the boys kept their date with the Independence day celebration on campus.

Reminiscing

Came across this video from 7 years ago (Kabir at 1.5 years) and it worked like a time machine. I'm so grateful for technology that allows me to relive these moments.
